What is Dreaming in Daylight, Drowning in Darkness (D·4)?From flights of fancy to folklore, magic and monsters, swords and swashbucklers, let your imagination run wild in this enchanting two-part Naruto AU Fantasy zine! Split into two sections, this zine will explore both the light side (Dreaming in Daylight) and dark side (Drowning in Darkness) of the fantasy genre. It promises to be a genuine delight!!!Which characters will be represented?Any and all! This project is open to all characters from Naruto and Naruto Shippuden.What’s in the project?SO MUCH AMAZING STUFF!!!!1.) A gorgeous art + poetry book - 8.5" square (21.6cm square), perfect-bound, featuring luxurious fantasy AU art spreads paired with breathtaking poetry!
2.) A delightful side zine - 5.5" x 8.5" (14cm x 21.6cm), perfect-bound, featuring sketches from the artists and short stories from our incredible authors!
3.) A ton of fun merch, including our annual wall calendar! (Fill out our interest check to choose your favorites.)Will you be inviting guests?Absolutely! Feel free to make your suggestions on our interest check! Plus, you’ll be seeing some familiar names from prior P4Pzines projects reprising their role to bring these beautiful fantasy AUs to life in their uniquely gorgeous styles!!!Who can apply?D·4 is looking for page/cover artists (x30), authors/poets (x5), and merch artists (tbd)! This is a large, inclusive project and we would love to see a broad spectrum of talent!!! Zine applicants are required to be 18y/o and up, or over the age of majority in their respective countries at the time of their application.Can I apply for multiple roles?You certainly may!What do I need to have in order to apply?For this project, we’ll be asking art contributors to submit 3-5 pieces of work that demonstrate their ability (some of which will need to be full illustrations with backgrounds, unless applying to be a merch artist). Authors will be asked to submit at least three links or a compiled document of excerpts for those stories they feel best represent them as authors (Maximum 5k in length per fic).It’s not mandatory that the art submitted be from Naruto, however, authors will need to include at least one piece demonstrating a grasp of characterization for the Naruto fandom.Some people will submit direct links to their work and some will prefer to compile their work into one google drive folder or website. Any style of submission is acceptable!What will contributors receive for their participation?As is P4Pzines’ tradition, all contributors will receive a free contributor bundle + free shipping, regardless of sales! Contributor bundles are always pre-funded.Is this a for profit or charity project?Neither! It’s “Pay for Production” (P4P)!!! Since contributor bundles are covered separately, customers pay only the cost of production and associated fees.Here at P4P Zines, our focus is on bringing amazing art to your doorstep as low cost as possible!
